Agricultural Project, Ganja Project Manager: Fagan Agayev (fagan.agayev@nhe-az.org) This project’s aim is to contribute to qualitative and quantitative development in various agricultural sectors in Ganja and surrounding regions through stimulating increased co-operation between farmers, providing local and international expertise, advice and training, as well as encouraging increased utilization of local solutions and resources. Creation of unions through collaboration and implementing of new technologies is proving to yield higher results for future development in the units. Project Duration: 5/2002—? |

Agricultural Development Project, Sheki Project Manager: Huseyn Idrisov (huseyn.idrisov@nhe-az.org). This project, funded by the Norwegian government through NORAD for a period of 5 years, continues some of the activities of the Agricultural Development Pilot Project (ADPP) implemented during 2005—2007, and covers the 4 regions of Gakh, Sheki, Oguz and Gabala. ADPP served about 3,500 farmers, and about 400 inseminations of cattle were carried out. 10 greenhouses were constructed, and over 100 calves born. Over 30 training sessions were conducted. The goal of the project is to be involved in helping farmers in the project area to develop a sustainable and independent agriculture, focusing on the poorest farmers. Fish Farming Project Project Manager: Arne Boe (arne.boe@nhe-az.org) This project covers the regions of Sheki, Oguz and Gabala, and assists small-scale farmers with access to water and suitable land in the establishment of fish farming industry. Since the project’s start, 30 ponds run by a total of 19 farmers have been established. Presently, 11 farmers are receiving support through this project. Project Duration: 5/2004—? |

Job Creation Project Contact Person: The Programme Manager The goal of this project is to create new jobs in the regions of Oguz and Gabala through developing nut production and meat production, including pig breeding for the Udi minority people group in the project area. A sausage factory will be established as soon as investment capital is raised, and a nut garden will be developed in Oguz. Project Duration: 5/2004—12/2011 (?) |

“A Life with Dignity” Project Manager: Oleg Danakari (tel. 050 387 3920) This project’s objective is to assist the poorest in society within the regions of Sheki, Oguz and Gabala through working together with them in order to meet immediate, urgent needs, as well as to provide long-term, sustainable income which will increase their self esteem and help them to a life with dignity. The project is planned for an initial period of 2 years, with the possibility of extension. Project Duration: 4/2008—3/2010 |
